I mean, man, the two grew up going through primary school together. He’s been friends with that girl since before he could walk it feels like. He doesn’t know all the sordid details of her life, however, and he likes it that way. Details make things messy and his relationship with Leah has always been anything but messy. He loves the girl and everything about her to death. He wouldn’t do anything to risk that friendship – and that includes hitting on her anymore. Okay. So they were friends as toddlers, we’ve already gone over that. But it got better! When he was first dating girls, Leah was there. To hit him over the head, of course, for every girl he broke up with. But she was always there. He finally convinced her to go out on a few dates with him at the end of their eighth grade year. That went over marvelously – if by marvelously you mean he tried to kiss her and right as her father came out with his shotgun (he had [i]always[/i] thought the old man was kidding about that thing) she kneed him and all heck broke loose... Marvelously. Yupp. But they recovered. Blake learned not to ask out his best girl friend, and he learned that Mr. Clearwater really did have a shotgun to go after any rampant hormones. Of course, it got even better when Sethy got older and started getting all “stay away from my sis” around him. Please, as though he hadn’t learned his lesson at the tender age of thirteen! They stayed best friends throughout high-school and when the whole ordeal with Sam happened, he was the first to corner Sam demanding some sort of explanation for his sudden shift in affections. Never getting a satisfactory answer, Blake discontinued his friendship with the older kid. Didn’t matter to him how good of friends they had been before – he had hurt Leah and with no real reason. Plus, then he started that whole gang and just... ugh. Blake and Leah fell apart slightly a few months ago. After she lost her father, Blake was at a loss for what to do. He tried to help her, but she seemed so distant. He assumed she wanted to be left alone – but it did no good. They simply fell apart. Of course, Blake is a persistent little bugger and he managed to get his way back into her life. She still seems different, but he doesn’t quite know what it is about her that has changed.
